DocherGOAT & ZWilliams are uber locks at the prices they'll be at.

Danger as a forward too.

Good to see a lot more forward DPP's than last year and there is always a glut of mids so can expect a lot less clone teams this time , locks Danger , Fyfe , Mitchell , Grundy , Lloyd probably Heeney and Oliver and Cripps but it's still 2018 so nothing in concrete yet  ;)

I'm off Fyfe. Never plays a full season. So sick of trading him in and out every year.

All the better for the people who start him  ;)

Until he gets injured like every other year and burns you again  ;)

That's true.

At this stage I don't think I'll be paying up for any of the high scoring defenders. Doc and ZWilliams are locks and Whitfield's floor is 100, with all the blokes they've shipped, he could go 105+

DEF: Docherty, Whitfield, Williams (looking at Lloyd, Laird, Sicily, Andrews, Witherden, Ryan, Birchall

Unsure on my mids at this stage. Would love to fit in B Crouch whom I think will be a steal at his price. Probably comes at the expense of his brother whom I'd love. Other bloke I'd love is Fyfe who is a scoring machine but he always misses games, is an absolute killer year in year out.

MID: Dusty, Oliver, Cripps, Kelly, B Crouch (looking at Fyfe, Neale, Zorko, Macrae, Sloane, MCrouch, Zerrett, Treloar, Jelwood, Titch, Parker, Yeo, Bont)

Grundy is locked. Gawn is not. Am very tempted by Goldy who averaged 110 past Round 9, priced at 100. Mummy is tempting but he misses first 3 games does he not?

RUC: Grundy, Goldstein (Ruc/Fwd swing) (looking at Gawn and Mummy)

So many options, it's literally self explanatory really.

FWD: Dangerfield, Heeney, Hoff (ruck cover) (looking at Wingard, Menegola, Dunkley, Elliott, Daniher, Billings)

Could easily fit another premo into this team on a line I feel (Probably in defence). Fill the rest with all rookies.

The defence I like most is Laird, Doch, Whitfield,Williams  but they all share the same bye

Laird might have to be a post-bye pick up. Which is a great way to get burned early but I think it has to happen...

Whitfield, Docherty, Williams
Mitchell, Cripps, Oliver, Fyfe, Kelly
Grundy, Gawn
Dangerfield, Smith, Heeney

Will probably mould my team around this.

Hoff as R/F is the biggest lock to start in my forward line
I wanna pick him too haha. But 6 other proven guys there to pick from as well.

Maybe R2? Swing him into the forwards later when we know whats happening with Gawn/other second premo ruck?
Just curious how much playing more ruck time contributed to Hoff's first and only season scoring 100+?
Anyone able to come up with the relevant stats?
He seemed to have a great year in general so maybe its coincidence he scored well and played more ruck.
Won't be needed there if Lycett and Ryder stay fit, but on the other hand he will be able to spend more time on the wing with Dixon and Ryder fwd.
He's getting on 32 or 33? But is super tempting as ruck cover with a cheap loophole R3.

I seem to have an opposite view to this. I thought his game turns to shower when he plays as a RUC. So if I picked him, I would be hoping he has no ruck time.

His fantasy game? Sure hes not the best ruckman and he lost a lot of hitouts for Pear but surely its undeniable that his fantasy stats increased due to more time on ball?

Yeah I think ele is on the money here

Comparing his 2018 and 2017 stats, although he didn't have a heap of HO's in 2018 he had a lot more regular HO numbers which is a reflection of him playing on and around the ball more often, compared to 2017 when he barely had HO's at all and averaged just 87SC that year

He played much more around the ball, and even rucked a lot more this year compared to any other year, which makes sense considering Ryder needed support, but with Lycett now coming I'd expect Hoff's time on the ball/ruck to drop back to normal, so I would think an average in the 86-92 range is probably more realistic for 2019

At that average, and his durability he is certainly good enough for F5/6 at worst, and having RUC cover makes him even more valuable so I don't have any questions around having him in my side, but the question now is, is he worth starting?

On closer inspection, considering he will be priced at 101avg, I think I could see myself not starting Hoff, but I'd look to bring him in as an upgrade at some point during the season. If one of my rucks goes down short term, I could then bring him in earlier (still as a fwd) and then swing him into ruck to cover

Hoff at 555k based on Doctor SuperCoach pricing is way too pricey for me to start.

Will definitely look to pick him up later though, very handy.

Yes agree _wato to many good FWD's to be paying that much for him even though he seems durable he is quite old , lets see what is thrown up in cheapies for the ruck bench for cover first but won't be starting the Hoff

After playing around with Doctor Supercoach’s team planner I have realised that paying up for Patty D in the forward line is a big expense even though I think he’s a lock it does make the rest of your team a little more compromised than previous seasons.
