There is ONE round of the AAMI Community Series, where - as Drew Carey would say - everything is made up and the points don't matter.
Well, this comp may be made up, but who says it doesn't matter!
Rules
We have 18 teams, and 1 tournament winner to decide within 1 week. How will we go about it this time?
In the spirit of pre season matches, often we see the inexperienced get given match exposure. Why should we be any different?
1) XV structure - as per usual, with 4 emergencies (which is the now default in 2020)
2) Scoring - essentially, the rookies are gold mines this year.
The scoring formula will be as follows
Points scored x ( $290,000* / salary of player)
*league wide average salary per player, excluding those priced at $100k.
All of a sudden, Max Gawn isn't the gun he's supposed to be, and Matt Rowell / Tom Green become demi-gods.
For example, Gawn scores say, 150. This is adjusted as so: - 150 * 290,000 / 924,000 = 47
Whereas say, Will Day scores 75, which turns into: - 75 * 290/169 = 129
3) Captain scores will be based on raw scores as always.
Just go with it, it'll be fun!
I started this thread thinking AFL pre-season started Feb 18, but that has since been moved to March 4th. So here's to being early!
