I'm seeing lots of love for Jordan Dawson. Do people really expect him to be one of the top 6 defenders? Who will they be, what will they average?
Can old Houli and Hurn back it up?
Surely Lloyd is top 6 again. Maybe not 110+ but surely in the top batch.
Zwill with less midfield time with a full gws line up?
Rampe and Daniel overperformed in 2019?
Stewart just keeps getting better, will the trend reverse?
Sicdog and Laird to bounce back after good but not elite years?
22 games from Rich last year, 9th best average shouldn't be dismissed. Maybe Harris stamps himself as the premier key back in the comp this year.
Midfield Houston going to push into the top 6?
Maybe DBJ gets all the ball off half back with Houston not there.
Surely Dawson stands no chance of being top 6. Surely.

Withergoat gonna be the man now with Hodgey gone, lock it in
-
Starny deserves a mention too.

Been thinking about this the last few days.
Comical the expectations placed on Dawson/Houston/DBJ imo. Shocked if they top 6
Zac Williams, Laird and Lloyd the safe ones for me. Williams and Lloyd perhaps a little pricey and will get them for cheaper.
Haven’t adjusted initial team but I am liking Tom Stewart as well. Think he maintains scoring for sure.
Think the same for Caled Daniel.
Not as confident on hurn/rampe.
My 6 safe top 10 defenders would be Lloyd laird zwilliams Stewart Daniel and probably docherty(which probably seems crazy today after consecutive injuries but when on the park he’s just that good)
-
Yeah I have no interest in Dawson whatsoever - if he was 50-100k cheaper then sure, but he's too expensive and there's plenty of other guys who are much more proven for a little more
Lloyd, ZWil, Laird, Stewart, Daniel, Ryan, Sicily and Docherty are the safe picks to finish Top 6-8
Houli and Hurn could certainly back it up, but I just don't see any reason to risk starting them as their age makes them much more of an injury risk/scoring decline
Houston & DBJ are the two that I like in terms of breaking out to mid 90's, but similar to Dawson there isn't a huge saving in starting them so they can be picked later if need be, or if you're struggling for funds I don't mind starting 1 of them
Everyone else not mentioned (Rich, Rampe, Newman etc) I have zero interest in
-

D2 behind Withergoat
-
I think everyone is forgetting/not aware of the fact that Trent "The Cannon" McKenzie averaged 110 in 2019. He's priced at 55. That's 50% off.
-
Another one game wonder against the Dockers in the final game of 2018. Won’t even get a gig in Round 1 of 2020
-
Lloyd, Doc and one of Laird/Stewart/Daniel are the guys I'd be starting with
-
Withergoat gonna be the man now with Hodgey gone, lock it in

Small sample size, but I think intercept possessions will be a premium. I've grabbed Sicily for that reason along with Howe.

I really wanted to pick Howe, but just couldn’t fit him in with my structure
-
Howe is paying off. Making up for Bont/Macrae
/Cavarra on field

+1 Sicily, Docherty, Howe (great value at his price)
-
156 for Howe is very nice.
-
Who to start with, Sicily or Houston? ???
-
156 for Howe is very nice.
I picked Howe, very happy. ;D

I know it was just Marsh series but the way he looked in that pre-season game convinced me to pick him. Now just need Sicily to follow suit.
-
Was tossing up between Lloyd and Howe, went with Lloyd.
Lloyd was on 18 at QT, Q2 included 4 disposals (3 kicks, all of which were contested), a mark, a tackle.
He's on 52 at HT.

Just finished chasing a golf ball ... what happened to Brodie Smith???

Just finished chasing a golf ball ... what happened to Brodie Smith???
Copped a bit of an injury to the chest I think and sat out a fair bit of the game through the 2nd and 3rd quarters
-
Houston and Brodie both horrible for me, but so far most of the other prem defenders have been average too, besides Doch and Howe, so I guess it's not as bad as it could have been
Still frustrating

Ryan n Houston here .... yuck

Thanks Rusty
Just looking at the rd1 destruction of my impeccable team ... feels like I have taken one to the chest too!

Yep time to get him tf out of my team after they. Never again.

hes not talked about by anyone really. He's in for me, for Roberton. very very good POD
since rd 10 last yr to now, his avg is 103 (taking out a 7 were he must have been injured) also making him a little underpriced.
last 3 yrs avg have a upward trend
64
71
87(rd 10 onward 103)
Houstans since rd10 avg is 89
so summarising his appeal to me
DBJ: since rd 10 ave 103
avg Disposals: 25
Ownership: 0.7%
Houstan: since rd 10 ave 89
avg Disposals: 20
Ownership: 29.3%
*both since rd 10 averages include rd1
-
He wasn't injured for that 7, he scored it in a full game of football and it can't be disregarded

good to know, cheers
I guess its how you want to look at it, glass half full or empty
anomaly and has him underpriced or expect something like that again

I'm sad now that everyone has Howe in their team

Everybody except me! :'(
Ended up trading B Smith to Stewart, so at least that is working so far.

Stewart is a good pick. I'm wishing I had him instead of Sicily

Sorry not sorry 8)

Not Houston 1st trade this week
-
Watched Laird closely tonight and even though the Crows were awful I think he has to go for Howe or Stewart and possibly Z Williams.
-
Houston to Howe next week.
-
Houston to Stewart for me I think.
-
Maynard?
-
Houston to Howe next week.
Yep he has to go he is a spud never near the ball.
-
Laird probably has to go too but will see teams first. Thinking Stewart

I'm keeping him as i need to prioritise rookies. Although he has had a bad start and Adelaide arent quite a different side this year, i am still hopeful he will be a consistent top 10 scorer in total points.
-
If y'all could keep Houston and not trade in Howe that would be great
-

Yeah I wanted to see one more game, I watched the whole game and I cannot remember seeing him on the field, let alone in the midfield like we hoped he would.
-
Last week I missed Howe, so dumped Smith for Stewart and give Houston another chance.
Fool me once.....
He’s gone for Howe this week.

Whats everyone think of Darcy-Byrne Jones as a pick?
I am tempted as he is a good POD (1% of teams) and feel like this is his break out season.
Good price too at $486,000.

Him or Haynes around that price. (If you don’t have Howe)

I started with Howe so looking at getting DBJ in as my D4 for Noble.
Haven't really thought about Haynes.
