Thought I would start a thread to record issues we need to discuss prior to next season.  Will update this OP as issues raised as well.

1) We need to decide on competition scoring for next year - Whether to change to another way or keep doing the combination.

2) Need to revisit penalties for not naming teams. No HGA or Bonus really no penalty in some cases. Suggest adding no doubling of C or VC scores then there would be a reasonable penalty.

For me the scoring system is the main thing we need to look at and I think we need to work that out before we draft and trade.

I think the penalty for not naming teams should be that your team is taken from your list lodgement/preferences at the start of the season rather than the team the previous week.

The scoring system is another thing that needs to be sorted out too.

Yep agree with Nige here using the preference list rather than previous weeks team should be done

It also makes sure coaches put the effort in (it seriously only takes 5 mins anyway) to make sure they actually organise their preference list.

Do not mind this with the added penalty of the 15th named player as captain rather than 1st.

Happy with the scoring system so far, would imagine it will be as close to sportal as we can get.

Alright if we do that then I'll have to update our preference list this week. But I'll make sure our best player is listed at 15th ;)

I'd personally rather, if they don't name a team, then they don't win regardless of score. They get given their best team so as to not skew the %, but the other team get the 4 points. Really easy.

You have a point here Spite and worth pursuing for next year as well,

Really against changing things once season has started hence why I started this thread.

My main beef over the last 2 years and tried to change this year but accepted the final vote is the penalty has no real effect on some teams.

If a coach doesn't post a team I don't really want a penalty that is going to give the team they play that week too much of an advantage.

Otherwise some teams could get a big percentage-boosting win against a team which might skew the ladder.

The penalties should be firmly on the coach in questions which is why I voted for that option in the vote.

However, thinking about it then perhaps docking premiership points, but not changing the scoring in the affected games (just take the first 15 players named in the team lists with #1 as captain, #2 VC, #3 EVC), would be a viable option.

So perhaps the first time is a warning, the second time 4 premiership points are deducted and the third time either 8 points are deducted or the coach gets sacked - up to the league commissioner's discretion.

Also works in reverse in that a stronger list playing a weaker team as we seen this week with Magic posting their highest score of the season against Steins who are  2nd last result being 144 to 92.
Do not like naming teams but decided to to show why it needs discussion. My preference was the sliding scale of penalty points which was rejected and I accept that and now need to revisit for fairness using the above as a real example this year,

Just no HGA for the game or next HG if their away for first offense.

Second offense 2 premiership points
