Yeah I know, you must feel like the Adelaide Crows have the last two seasons and West Coast last season.

ck must have a better gameplan  :P haha

In all honesty, your game was probably the toughest match-up for rivalry round (a consistent top 3 side). You can still beat them though - Beams bombed - and Steven always goes big against Port when he's in form (140-160's)

That's why I wanted randomised for this round, screws over some teams :/

Better draft picks at least :P

So does total points continue into finals for those teams? - I think that is a better way to ensure the draft is fair.

e.g. bottom six teams based on total points from R1-15. Top 6 draft picks based on total points from R1-elimination or victory.

I'll put it out to a vote at the end of the season I guess, same as other draft issues such as that regarding NJD's pick (good side but no coach = bad performances)

but Nige shouldn't be punished

teams have gone uncoached in other comps don't think any have suffered in the draft for it in new coach

we cant just do it cause PK feels hard done by

if that was the case Quito and i would be demanding ladder positions would be decided by points scored

things are just unfair sometimes

That's why I'm putting it to a VOTE. That's how democracy works. If you don't like it vote against it, I'm sure you won't be the only one on that side but I'm sure there will also be coaches on the other side.

How's Nige being punished? He doesn't have a bottom of the ladder team. Only reason they're there is because a team hasn't been named nearly all year. He has one of the stronger midfields in his possession, so I wouldn't call having that team and pick 2 as a punishment at all.

Even though, i'll most likely be trying to trade it for a player... Don't know how many of you guys would bite this year. Ready made defender in Weitering could get some nibbles.

+1

In games where you have no control over what an opposition team does (i.e. fantasy football) the fairest method of ranking teams is 'points for', not percentage, not points against, not even ladder position. We have literally done points for every single draft since the 2014 season (after our first official season).

I don't see how it would be unfair, or even punishing, Nige at all. He will still receive the 2nd pick in the draft, it's just Brooklyn have scored less points this season, not by tanking, but by a lack of personnel. NJD have the personnel, yes they have been inflicted by injuries and inconsistency, but their total points reflect that, but at the end of the day. Brooklyn & NJD's lists, side-by-side, the latter is easier the stronger of the two, and that's why when they are firing they score more than Brooklyn ever has this season. Brooklyn needs the first pick to either recruit a future premium or to recruit a current one. I don't know while we would suddenly change the method is determining draft order. Either points for R1-15 or taking into account the final, the outcome will be the same, because the highest scoring team will beat the lower scoring ones (barring a poor week).

I honestly think if anyone is being punished it's Pk...

because according to the ladder he has pick 1

rightly or wrongly punishing the team is affecting Nige

all of us could complain and argue if they had a coach they could of won the flag so they should get the last pick

i don't care that much will just go with the vote

The only thing I really don't understand is why we are changing the rules determining draft order now. We had a vote last year and it was almost unanimous and we've followed that paradigm ever since (even the mid-season draft). I think we need to remain consistent (it doesn't affect my team either but like you it's not an issue of fairness & equity either. For me, it's an issue of consistency)

Could Chicago's decision to play McCarthy in the utilities - rather than in the forward be their demise.

I.e. if Pope played McCarthy in the forwards, Crameri would have replaced him

However, with McCarthy in the utilities, first named emergency - Rory Lobb - fills in  :-\

This round has been the best of the season (really think Jukes nailed the top 8 match-ups)
