Fixtures
1st Semi Final: Houston Bombers vs Quito Quetzals
2nd Semi Final: San Francisco Grizzlies vs Boston Terriers

Houston were dismal last week - Quito, phenomenal. These two sides last clashed in round 3, with Houston winning 130 to 114, and Houston scored more points overall in the home and away season. Very interesting clash, basically very recent form against the season's effort, backing the Quetzals to get it done and send Houston home in straight sets.

San Fran have only lost 1 game all season, while Boston have lost 4 - half of them to the Grizzlies; 125-124 in round 8, and 126-123 in round 15. Had they played in the first week of finals the Grizzlies would've won 127-122, so with that and HGA I'll back us to get it done and go straight to the grand final. The winner of this goes straight through to the big day, while the loser hosts the winner of the other clash for the other spot.

Lockout will occur at the start of Sydney vs Collingwood at 7:50pm EST on Friday the 14th of August.

So far this is how we're tracking:

Houston: 1073/11, captain played, add HGA
Quito: 1290/13, captain played
Very evenly match game so far, if not for Levi Greenwood the Quetzals would likely be going much better.

San Francisco: 1592/14, captain played, add HGA
Boston: 973/7, captain played
Both teams looking the part, Boston definitely the beneficiaries of favourable SC scoring and scaling. SF with scary consistency, with the lowest of their scores being 88, with 10/14 to be named in the best. If SF's remaining players score to their averages, they'll score 2125 (142), which would be the highest ever AXVIII score - and still not be a certainty to win! This has the looking of an epic.

Houston Bombers 18.14.122 lost to Quito Quetzals 19.12.126
(Real: 1834 vs 1885)

Quito travelled into Houston full of confidence, and irked out a tight win in front of a hostile crowd! Sandilands' ruckwork was instrumental, both aiding his score and the scores of the dominant midfield around him. Sloane and Hill provided their forwards with options, but it just wasn't enough to stop them going out in straight sets. Kennedy vs Rance was a great battle, with both named in the best.

Best
Houston: Sloane, Hill, Rance, Kreuzer, Adams, Hooker, Smith, Darling
Quito: Sandilands, Redden, Griffen, McVeigh, Goddard, Kennedy, Wingard
Finals Champion: Aaron Sandilands

San Francisco Grizzlies 21.11.137 defeated Boston Terriers 20.7.127
(Real: 2062 vs 1910)

Aside from Miles' 55, replaced by Howlett's 65, the Grizzlies were fantastic and well deserving of a finals spot, with every other score being over 80, including 12 players in the best, tied for second most this season, as they scored the third highest score ever, and on a huge stage too. And this was done without Wines, Douglas, Jaensch, Duffield, and Coniglio in the side. While SF were consistent, Boston were not - they had the three highest scoring players out there, but were supremely let down by only one starting midfielder cracking 80, all the way down to Barlow's 29 (replaced by Sheed's 60).

Oh, and best of all, this means I'm 3-0 against Boston this season :D where the haters at now!

Best
San Francisco: Guthrie, Jack, Martin, Kolodjashnij, Christensen, Pittard, Betts, Deledio, Williams, Montagna, Elliott, Stanton
Boston: Robinson, Wallis, Dahlhaus, Goldstein, Pendlebury, Rich, Murphy
Finals Champion: Mitch Robinson

Which means that Boston host Quito next week for the other grand final position.
