Give some MOCK drafts a go, eventually u will catch on, depending if your doing H2H or Roto strategies differ

Roto is about a statistical balance, you cant be weak in anyone category or you wont win, Deandre Jordan not good as his free throw % is impossible to offset, there is an 82 game limit per slot. Potentially you can win your league not winning a single category but by being in the top 4 of all catergories

H2H is about dominating at least 5 categories as weekly matchups are out of 8. guys like Deandre Jordan, Andre Drummond are great value, if u boot free throw % they will almost single handedly win you the rebounding category in matchups.
There isnt a game limit on slots in H2H so u play the waiver wire and schedules, example you own Jarred Sullinger, he doesnt play a game for 2 days, Tristan Thompson is on the waiver wire and has back to back games, you drop Sullinger pickup Thompson to get as many games as you can into your matchup, you get 6 matchup acquisitions per matchup

I'm also doing a draft league and have no idea what I'm doing. At the moment we have 10 categories selected which appear to favour the little men.

Are there any good sleeper picks I should know about? Thanks!

The article is a month and a half old, are those players still good picks? What are your thoughts Holz?

must admit havent done my research yet. The rational behind most of them is completely valid. Nothing has happened in the last month to change it. We need to see preseason games to start to make adjustments.

do you know what pick you have. You kind of need to build around your first few rounds picks then go from there.

hmm well that makes it hard. in a category league its all about balance.

You build around the superstars. So if you have a big man who gets lots of board, blocks and fg% then you will need to balance that with guys who hit 3s, FT% assists and steals.

If you start of with a guards than vice versa you will need big guys shortly after to balance it out.

you need to make sure you also build on your strengths though. If you pick up say John Wall and Klay Thompson with the first two picks then your looking good with Assists, Steals, Points, FT%, 3 pointers etc..

so you need to work on blocks and rebounds, so look at a few big men. Keep up your strengths by maybe picking up another shooter 5th or 6th to ensure that your top of that category.

There are certain players who will win you categories but will lose you others. i think its good to ignore those players unless they slip really far.

Jordan - FT%

or there are players who are just great at rebound blocks etc.. but dont do much else. I think more rounded players are better.

Thanks Holz. So the best strategy is go all rounded rather than pick lets say 5 stats and just win them each week?

are you playing head to head or rotto.

if head to head than dominate categories and completely tank in others. If its not head to head you have to be balanced. One last place in any category and your gone.

Head to head. My draft is tomorrow :)
Any rookies I should think about taking near the end of the draft? High draft picks that should get games perhaps?
