And speaking of calf injuries, just how many have we had over the last two years.A calf injury cost Luke McPharlin his career. It seems that almost every player is going down with a calf injury.
I blame it on the surface at Fremantle oval.As much as I love Fremantle oval, it seems to me with the lime stone underneath it is far too hard a surface to be training on.The sooner we get to Cockburn the better.Only my thoughts but it is either the surface at Fremantle oval, or the training is all wrong.

Fremantle Dockers defender Sam Collins relished the opportunity to play against AFL competition in Peel Thunder’s clash with East Perth on Saturday.

Collins was matched up on the 197cm, 96kg frame of West Coast player Fraser McInnes and kept the key forward goalless, while also gathering 18 possessions of his own.

The mature-age recruit saw plenty of quality competition in his time at Box Hill in the VFL, and said it was great to be able to play on other AFL-listed players.

Tests this week for Mundy, Clarke, Blakely and Hughes.Only Mundy of course will be a walk up start into the team for Sunday.
Also good to hear Michael Apeness has resumed training. He will join the main group in a couple of weeks.Look forward to seeing what this kid has to offer.

I've been excited about Apeness for 2 years but injuries have not been kind to him.

He will need to play quite a few games for Peel to prove his fitness and ability before we put him in the team

Tucker would have to take someone else out of the side, Mundy wasn't in the side last week.

Fyfe ruled out for season :'(

Reigning Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe will not play again in season 2016.

The 24-year-old had surgery last month to insert a plate in his fibula after fracturing his left leg in Fremantle’s loss to Carlton in round five at Domain Stadium.

Fyfe suffered a similar injury to his left leg in last year’s Preliminary Final loss to Hawthorn and subsequently underwent surgery to insert a plate in his fibula.

The plate that was inserted after Fyfe’s most recent surgery is due to be removed by the mid to late season mark, which will be followed a period of rehabilitation.

General manager of football operations Chris Bond said the decision was based on medical advice.

“It’s disappointing for Nat and our members and supporters but we will always act in the best long-term interests of a player’s health and well-being,” Bond said.

“Based on clear medical advice Nat will not be available to play again in 2016.

“He is due to have the plate removed later in the year and will then undergo a carefully planned period of rehabilitation.

“Our medical advice is that if Nat completes the rehabilitation phase without any setbacks he will be fit and available to start the 2017 pre-season on schedule.”

Disappointing for him and Freo fans but the best course of action to take.
Blokes a gun arguably the best going around these days, why risk him in a season that's all but gone.

FREMANTLE recruit Harley Bennell's season is in jeopardy after suffering another setback in his rehab from a calf injury.

Bennell injured the calf playing in the WAFL the week prior to the first round of the season.

The Dockers placed the high-profile recruit on a long-term rehab program that was supposed to last 10 weeks.

Coach Ross Lyon confirmed on Thursday that Bennell had a suffered a setback but would not provide the exact details of the injury.

Lyon said the club would release a statement within the next 24 hours providing details on the injury.
