You read above report and go good Jelwood back this week then in the AFL site the coach says he is no certainty to play this week  :o

The coach is a knob

Jelwood will play - you heard it here first

Scott just needs medical clearance for Jelwood

My phone is at the ready

Love it Doc

 :)
Did we though?

It shows how gutsy he really is. He couldn't move the arm at all and came back onto the ground to give us a rotation. I'm not surprised it's a 1 month injury. I actually thought it was going to be season over.

Apparently Sandi is done for the year
Ross already ruled him out during his presser.
Could have saved us all alot of problems if this was said before the byes
If they said he would do his hammy after the byes, ruling him out for the rest of the season? :P

yeah they should have. Wish they also told us that Fyfe would suck this year and that we should pick up walters round 7.

Well I did try and spread the good word about Walters during the byes mate.  ;D

The key would have been following through and picking him though..

Didn't fit my bye structure unfortunately as I had too many round 13 players at the time.

Would have taken a punt otherwise.

Nick Bowen
(@Nick_Bowen)
Blues awaiting scan results on Patrick Cripps' leg. Hoping he's escaped with bone bruising rather than a fracture. Should know by early arvo

TAB Radio

Brad Hardie tells us the word around Melbourne this morning is Patrick Cripps season is done and dusted.

Doesn't look great  :'(

Confirmation on Cripps season over with a broken leg

Also on Simon White: The Blues are understood to be confident White has not damaged his ACL, but have booked the defender in for a second lot of scans on Monday afternoon to determine the extent of his injury.

Does this effect Murphy in a good or bad way? At $500k seems a bargain if it will help him?

Our midfield depth is up shower creek. I think we might get a couple of surprise inclusions in the midfield in the next couple of weeks. I wouldn't be shocked to see a couple of the following happen. The most likely is that Rhys Palmer comes in and gets a run. A couple of the other options are below.

Byrne comes into play HB and Doc spends even more time in the guts. He has played a bit through the middle the last few weeks even starting the game at the center bounce.

Willow comes straight back in and both him and Simmo are used on the wing.

McKay comes in and we play Charlie Curnow in the middle. He has a big body similar to Cripps and is supposed to play both spots.

Sumner/Pickett/LeBois come in and we play them in the midfield rotation on the outside while Lamb, Cuningham, SPS and Daisy spend more time in the middle.

Kerridge is finding a ton of the pill but his ball use was atrocious on the weekend. Graham isn't an AFL standard player.

To be honest, I'd rather get Willow, McKay and Byrne into the side and give Charlie a run in the guts.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-14/shoulder-surgery-to-sideline-young-hawk-james-cousins

"HAWTHORN youngster James Cousins will likely miss the rest of the season after hurting his shoulder in Box Hill's loss to Williamstown on Sunday.

Cousins suffered the injury early stages of the match, but bravely played on to collect 24 touches and kick a goal."

Think its a great opportunity to start giving some experience to the younger players in their retrospective positions.
Fisher will be a jet midfielder in years to come.
Byrne will be great off half back along with Williamson.
Curnow will get runs through the midfield with his tank.
Cunningham perhaps off the wing.
I think Boekhorst needs to be given a chance, after his form in the VFL. Through the midfield perhaps too.
I was looking forward to seeing Buckley this year after hearing good things in the preseason, but he has seemed to stagnate and not sure he will make the cut.
Its the forward line that still needs addressing.
McKay is still quite a way off in my opinion. Realistically, its only his first year after last year was ruined by injury. Being a bigger body, he will take a while to find his feet and I don't think should be rushed in until he shows some consistency in the VFL.
Silvagni is getting better with each game as is Curnow. If things keep progressing in this vain, going to be a pretty strong side in a couple of years.
Back line is looking great with plenty of depth. I like your reasoning with Doc pushing in the midfield, but feel he is too valuable off half back. I actually don't mind Graham, showed a bit in the Collingwood game, maybe just needs more opportunities to show he can have the impact he does at VFL level. As a carlton supporter, I'm pretty excited about the next few years and the development of the recruits they have picked up in the past few years.

Just in case you're living under a rock

Danger is injured, about 10 minutes into the game.

He is still on the field but clearly struggling and I'd be surprised if he got through the entire game

The Footy World will be awaiting scans in the coming days

Danger is still out there and just kicked a goal

Unbelievable the will he has shown to play on and he might actually play out the game now

Will still need scans though because he's definitely injured himself
