As it appears so far it looks like we are most likely going to have an abundance of defensive rookies to choose from and alternative a lack of midfield rookies. One option that I have been considering is starting Adams in the midfield to help tackle the issue of the lack of rookies in the midfield and then planning to move him back as to the defense as early as possible during a downgrade/upgrade.

THoughts?

I've thought about doing the same thing. It definitely seems like an option this year.

I already have 3 rookies on field in defense with Adams at D1. I have gone a bunch of mid price options in the middle and the DPP seems like a good idea to adjust after a few weeks.

I like the idea. And it will work. Not sure I will do it though. Even though at the moment i have Adams.

Much better defensive rookies and low $200k options compared to other positions. Mids are a struggle. Let's hope that Barrett gets upgraded. And that Wigg and a few others get game time early.

This is the strategy that has been messing with my team for the last couple of years. We've either been getting a heap of playing rooks or "breakout" mid pricers pop up and I've ended up with 3 or even 2 premos, and I've struggled to complete my backline with quality players until the later rates due to dud picks and crap rooks. This year I'm going 4/0/2, Adams, Doch, Laird and JJ, great scoring potential and don't have to worry about upgrading until most of the rest of my team is complete

I decided early on to do the above as I wanted to ensure I could upgrade other lines 1st while my backline held its scoring power. Currently have these 4 mentioned by Money as my starting lot  :)

atm I've got Adams, Docherty, Hartlett, Thurlow, Hampton, Marchbank (Ryan, EVW)  (with Hibberd in the mids)

was thinking of switching Hartlett to a rookie (maybe Otten) and upgrade elsewhere
