Like most people I would imagine, I haven't considered this bloke at all this preseason. But I heard a whisper today that the eagles rucks for round 1 could be Vardy and McGovern. Eagles already have back men with barrass, Schofield  and Mackenzie.

I am not taking the risk but gee it would be interesting to see gov get substantial time on ball as the ruck.

Sit and wait perhaps.

His number have been trending up over the years and have thought about him all pre season, but if he gets any slight niggle the Eagles won't risk him so he'll miss random games here and there I presume, but I think he'll be solid this year.

Gruffman's back baby!

Would rather his role was defined each year so that he could reach the level of a Rance.
All this talk of swinging forward or spending time in the ruck is a put off.

Tiny Sample size but Barrass looked a real player with his intercept marking very late last year.

i remember a few years ago my dad picked him
and i laughed and thought what a fool
turns out he averaged almost a 100 in the first 2 months and he was a reason why i lost to my father in a head to head game :P
I aint going anywhere near but he scares me
and yes my dad is picking him this year :P

So he will ruck against Goldy and get 2 hitouts haha. Prefer him the loosish backman roll all day rather than being moved all over the shop

No way would I be taking him over the other options available.

Yep, with sooo many elite defenders available this season, no point in taking risks down back. Odds are that half of your defenders will be pods anyway.

Its why I find it so weird that so many people are picking Lloyd, Mills, Thouy etc. If these players breakout all they will do is equal the premiums you can already choose
