Def: Yeo, Laird, Hanley, Brayshaw, Birchall, O'Shea (J. Smith, Murphy)

Mid: Dangerfield, Martin, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Rayner, LDU, Stephenson (Freeman, Worpel, Naish)

Ruck: Gawn, Naitinui (Hayes)

Forw: Menagola, Heeney, Robinson, Rioli, Bennell, Fritsch (Garlett, Spargo)

Remaining $500

Would love some insights into peoples thoughts on this early team

Brayshaw if he gets a clean run should go 85-90

Robinson I would expect 90-95

These are the main PODs

Decent first attempt.. I, sure you will change it many times before round 1!  Couple of PODS in there which will hopefully be beneficial.  I am one to start with pods.  that's what you need to do to break into top 5k.  Having the same team as everyone else wont help.  This year I finished 622nd, and I remember starting the season with a few different picks. For example, I started with Josh Kelly, no one else really did.. so maybe, chose a player you think will break out next year and be the difference.  best of luck!

Hey mate, IMO Brayshaw + Rioli + Bennell = too much injury risk

really like your team.     issue with brayshaw going 85-90 is too low for a starting def keeper.  you already have birchall in that role and maybe hanley.
also cyril never really is sc reliable.  would prefer to dowgrade to rookie and get a more reliable mid keeper or perhaps lobb as wce no1 ruck into the fwds.

Team looks solid, like the Robinson pick, am considering him myself.

Only questionable picks IMO are Rioli and having both of Brayshaw and Birchall as has already been said. For Rioli, I would look at Christensen or Ah Chee as they're both cheaper and equally as likely to become keepers as Rioli. As has been said regarding Brayshaw and Birchall, it is probably too risky to start both, however we probably need to see the availability of defender rookies to say for certain.

Imo the loss of Docherty means there is going to be a fair few pods in the backs, so just see how Brayshaw and Birchall go in the JLT

Had a go at updating my team and would like to hear peoples thoughts

Def: Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Brayshaw, Doedee, Morgan (Murray, Cumming)

Mid: Dangerfield, Mitchell, Crouch, Fyfe, Cripps, LDU, Brodie, Ahern (Worpel, Kelly, Holman)

Ruck: Jacobs, Gawn (Olango)

For: Greene, Gray, Robinson, Stringer, Christensen, Higgins (Rioli, Garlett)

Cash Remaining $8,100

I didn't like the feeling of having so many rookies in the fowards and defence so I have been sucked into the mid price game.

Brayshaw could go 85-90 with a good run of injuries and should get midfield time with Vince Lewis Jones starting to phase out into the attacking and defensive 50s.

Robinson averaged 91 last year before getting injured and has always been fairly reliable for a 90 average which could be enough for an F6.

Stringer is a watch for the JLT to see the time ratio between mid and forward but given how open the forward line is this year he could either be used as a stepping stone or could reach a decent average and become a keeper.

Would appreciate hearing what other people are thinking

Nice team.

Robinson and Stringer in forwards may be too much of a risk as I doubt either will be in Top 10. Would upgrade 1 to certain Top 10 to save a trade - Heeney, Franklin, Billings, Smith and co worth looking at. Christensen OK at F4 with rookies at 5 and 6. Gray also with Rd 10 bye could be a problem for you,

Like most need to watch Rd 14 byes when upgrading as you currently have 6 of your keepers with this bye.

Love all your lines accept up forward.

Would rather wait on Gray and see if he is worth the pick after his bye. Stringer and Robinson are both likely to average 80-85 in my opinion so not bad enough to trade out but not good enough to be a top 10 so I would do an upgrade/downgrade there.

What happens if Brayshaw gets a headknock R1? His next concussion could be career ending

And if he doesn't, will likely score 80+.

Just as likely to get a head knock as anyone really, it's just that if he does get one he'll be out for longer because of it.

Yes, just as likely to get a head knock as anyone else, BUT, is proven to have concussion issues above and beyond what most experience.  Dead set, if he gets another concussion he could be finished in the AFL.

Bring on SC 2016

I'd look at
Stringer + Robbo > Heeney/Billings + Cheap rookie (Venables)
Gives u approx 130k to help strengthen other lines.
