I have no idea how many teams I have gone through at this point but feel like this team resembles what something similar to how my team will look Rd.1 (excluding injuries and rookie picks etc.)
Def: Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Birchall, Murray, Doedee - Morgan, Johnson
Mid: Mitchell, Sloane, Fyfe, Selwood, Cripps, O'Meara, Griffen, LDU - Ahern, Kelly, Garlett
Ruc: Gawn, Naitanui - Olango
Fwd: Heeney*, Greene, Gray, Ah Chee, Bennell, Higgins - Venables, Ryan
Bank $600

*May change since his preseason looks interrupted
Team includes some (a lot of) risk but I feel if you want to get ahead you need some risky moves (last those moves were starting Oliver and Kelly)

No Danger: Past experiences with 700k+ players have not been good (Goldy, Danger dropped in price last year) also Mitchell should make a reliable C option until Danger comes into my side eventually. More forward time also may hinder his score for example if Geelong's midfield doesn't supply the forward line enough in one game, he could be left sitting there doing nothing. Gaz inclusion would probably mean these 2 will alternate with each other in the forward line and midfield with Selwood more likely to stay in mid.
TLDR: Danger will drop in price and i'll get later on in the season (probably just after the bye)

Anyway tell me what you guys think and I will gladly answer any questions about particular selections

2017 SC Ranking - 2827

Bit of mid-price madness about this side, Birchall, O'Meara, Griffen, Ah Chee and Bennell. To me, thats at least 2 too many, but if they all start Rd. 1 then I suppose their selections could all be validated. Structure looks sound, though I've realised myself that not starting Danger comes with too large a risk and would look to find a way to get him in. Also interesting with the Sloane selection, he has proven to be a fickle SC player in the past, scoring well at the start of the year, but dropping off later in the season for various reasons, and he can't yet handle a tag.

In terms of the mid price madness, I can see all these players performing well and if they are playing Rd.1 that will be even better. I managed to balance it out by having the 3/5/2/3 structure to add a bit safety in case some mid-pricers don't pan out and then adding mid pricers on top of that since I do not trust the rookies completely. Sloane will have a massive year in his contract year and I think the Crouch brothers and Gibbs will take some attention away from him. Teams should also have realised that tagging Sloane is not a sure fire way to win a game since the Gibbs addition and the Crouch bros will be left. I would say not picking Dangerfield will be the POD decision that will propel my team forward especially if he drops in price (which is guaranteed). In terms of Captain choices Sloane (VC), Fyfe and Mitchell should do in that regard.

Agree with Shaker, I am more than happy if you don't want to start with Danger so I am not going to argue it.

Don't like the Gray pick at all to be honest as there is a plethora of stronger options than him in my opinion.

A lot of mid pricers but all have a good chance of performing and putting you ahead of the pack.

good luck.

I will be keeping an eye on Gray and Dahlhaus to see how they perform in the JLT. Gray doesn't perform then I'll pick Dahlhaus as the next one down the list. I more convinced of Gray getting midfield minutes when compared to a player like Wingard. I think that Gray and Rockliff will be alternating with each other but that is pure speculation. Funnily enough I think Gray will be my riskiest pick since he has that terrible bye and if he doesn't pan out, he could be difficult to trade out later. Thats part of the reason why I think I have 2 mid-price players in the forward line, to cover for Gray in round 10.

Glad you have only got to 198 million draft teams so far.

Love the Simpson POD, but certainly concerned about Gray (what is his role with Watts, Motlop and Rocky coming in) and Sloane as has shown he has no other position on the ground to go to when he is tagged. I believe Griffen will struggle to be able to get to the middle where points are made with the other players now around him in Kelly, Coniglio, Whifield, Ward and Taranto. He will fade into the dusk a la SJohnson and Deledio, imo
