Timeline and dates for the off season:

Tuesday 21st August - Draft orders finalised and published.

Wednesday 22nd August Trade Period 1 commences under the new approval rules.

Friday November 16th Trade Period 1 finalises (gives a few days for objections prior to draft)

Nov 22nd and 23rd AFL draft

November 27th - Final de-listing of players.

November 28th Final draft orders published

November 29th Draft commences

Trade Period 2 commences on completion of both Drafts.

Closure of Trade Period 2 Wed 27th February prior to commencement of JLT.

Wednesday, October 31 at 2pm: list lodgement I deadline Rookie promotion to primary list, retained rookies, international scholarship holders, alternate talent player nominations, father-son/Academy nominations, TPP pre-season estimates.
Thursday, November 1: AFL delisted free agency period commences.
Thursday, November 16: AFL delisted free agency period closes.
Friday, November 9 at 2pm: list lodgement II deadline.
Thursday, November 22: AFL draft Round 1.
Friday, November 23: AFL draft Rounds 2-5, pre-season draft, rookie draft, AFL delisted free agency period.
Tuesday, November 27 at 2pm: final list lodgement deadline.
