Does anyone know enough about the Gold Coast Suns to know if P Hanley is training with the group? His price is tempting, if you think all the way back to his 2012/13/14 form and forget about the last four years  ;D
think he is a trap.

Worpel an option with Tom Mitchell gone?  100k cheaper than Wingard and DPP.

Can't see any Hawk mids being good enough. It's Titch or bust in terms of SC

Sicily the only other Hawk I'd consider for SC

Tex Walker anyone?

343k, priced at a 63avg, and previous 4 seasons all 80+ so if he bounces back he could score decent, make 100k and be a pretty decent stepping stone?

I don't expect him to become a keeper, so it's always awkard picking guys at this price just as stepping stones, but I'm just looking for a reliable F4 as I don't like the idea of starting 5 rookies in the forward with 3 on field, and considering Greene is a no go I'm wondering if Tex might actually be a decent pick for F4?

If Tex and Greene line up R1 don't think I would be picking Tex but really there are a lot players cheaper if you are going to take a risk , Moore 239K , Fasolo 250K , McCartin 262K , Vandenberg 283K and MacPherson from the GC for 293K is one I'm keeping an eye on and there are plenty more  ;)

Tex at his best is a far better option than those guys. Fasolo? At Carlton? Moore is a walking injury.
Walker has actually averaged 100 before (albeit only once) and had 4 80+seasons. Adelaide should be big improvers and play finals. JJK is another option in that price range.

My point was if you are going to take a risk take a cheap one all those guys could make as much money as Tex if he can get back to an 80 avg. but if Greene plays R1 he wins hands down

Another left field possibility is Vardy at around that price as will be one of the top two rucks for WC and has DPP. You can unload him later when necessary

None of these guys have a good SC history, and most of them are injury prone too. I can't see how any of them are good options sorry

Whats the go with Jamie Elliott this year?

Had another hiccup not long ago but I think he is back training. Again, hasn't got a great scoring history bar 1 year, and now he has WHE, Thomas and Stephenson all in that forward line, none of who were there when he last played. No for me

Tex at his best is a far better option than those guys. Fasolo? At Carlton? Moore is a walking injury.

This is why I'm asking about Tex - he's proven and has plenty of 80+ seasons

JJK has had a really interrupted preseason so I wouldn't touch him at 400k

Greene was the perfect F4 because he was proven, cheap and a very good chance to become a keeper. Tex won't be a keeper, but like I said previously I just don't like the look of my side with a rookie at F4, and I can't fit a fully priced prem there either, hence the Tex consideration as a stepping stone who bolsters the forward, makes cash, scores pretty well and keeps a rookie off field

Another left field possibility is Vardy at around that price as will be one of the top two rucks for WC and has DPP. You can unload him later when necessary

Don't do it Pete. He was our R2, R1 all year and although he was great as a player, he is junk for SC and I expect Hickey to take over from Lycett so Vardy's score will continue to be as is

If you are only using Tex as a step up player to make a 100K RD and that is not a given he will why not keep an eye on players over the preseason who are up to a 100K cheaper ? like the ones above that extra cash will upgrade another line , those 350K players never seem to work out for me  ;)

I'd be steering clear of Tex given he took personal leave from the club following the death of his unborn baby. Dont think he'll be mentally ready for the start of the season.

I don't see the point in going with mid price forward options this year. The forward line is so stacked at the top end that you're best off grabbing Danger, 2 other premium priced players and filling it out with rookies.

The potential 100k gain is secondary. The appeal is having a Best 22 player capable of scoring well, and not having a spud rookie on field

As above, the only reason I'm asking about him is because I don't think there will be 5 good enough rookies to start and rely on. There might be enough named round 1, but I'm not picking SC small forward spuds ala Pickett, Garlett etc.

RD, won’t be choosing Vardy for my team - just a suggestion for yours if you were not comfortable with the rookies. Personally, I am going with Setterfield, Rankine, McAdam for F4,5,6 as I believe they will all play. If they don’t, then Narkle is another option. Bring on the JLT series
