Rory Laird, Lachie Whitfield, Alex Witherden, Zac Williams, Dylan Roberton, Sam Collins (Tom Williamson, Harrison Wigg)
Tom Mitchell, Dustin Martin, Matt Crouch, Zach Merrett, Dan Hannebery, Sam Walsh, Bailey Smith, Charlie Constable (Brett Bewley, Will Hayes, Tom Atkins)
Brodie Grundy, Shane Mumford (Callum Coleman-Jones)
Patrick Dangerfield, Justin Westhoff, Josh Dunkley, Joe Daniher, Will Setterfield, Shane McAdam (Josh Corbett, Ben Cavarra)

17k spare

Whipped up a few days ago in about 5-10 mins but I don't mind it as a first draft.

Talking points:
- Might be a bit nutty essentially going 5 deep down back (if you count Zwilliams and Robbo).
- Dusty, Mrouch, Zerrett and Hanners all represent solid value
- Picked Walsh and BSmith partially because of their price tag so I know I've got money to work with if cheaper rookies pop up
- Love my boy Sausage but not sold, considering a super safe pick in Nank since I know what I'll get but Goldy and Stef also under consideration
- Hoff works as coverage when Sausage misses the first two weeks if I go with this
- Huge Dunkley fan and I reckon he's a better shout than Toby Mac, Dev Smith probably the alternate
- Daniher for that price is a no-brainer I think
- Got my finger on the pulse for rookie selections and I try to pick the most realistic options but as always, until R1 teams drop, they are placeholders

Nice team  and structure to work with.

A playing R3 ruck /rookie will help us all out.

Bring on SC 2016

Hey mate. I reckon going that deep down back hurts your fwd line. Daniher at F4 is too risky imo. Given the scoring history of fwd rookies I'd rather go deep there, but we'll all be waiting on where rookies are available to finalise structures.

Other than that I like the team, especially the Dusty, Merrett, and Dunkley picks.
Having Westhoff is essential with Mummy, but you miss out on Heeney or Smith.

Team is really deep across all lines which is handy.

If you could get Daniher turned into Greene it would be looking really good in my opinion.

Great team Nige  agree with MS that JD to TG would make it better.

Hello again friends, thank you for replies to the original team, they were appreciated and taken aboard but I never replied because I didn't have a laptop at the time.

Below is the most recent version, had a couple of iterations between the team in the OP and this one but the structure has mostly stayed the same, think this will definitely be close to what I end up starting with.

I'd be lying if I said I was 100% confident in him, but I think if he actually comes good then he's insane value at his starting price. I think he can't possibly do worse than last year and with the ins at St Kilda (Kent, Parker etc), he's actually more likely to play midfield than ever before.

However, I'm looking at other options, but nobody is really jumping out at me any more so than Billings is.

Billings & Worpel just reeks of too much risk, I would rather Worpel to be honest, reckon he'll see plenty of midfield minutes. Reckon you should look at getting the funds to bring in a proven forward premo, Heeney & Gray the best bets I think.

Made a little bit of progress in the past month, finally reckon I've settled on the structure I'm most happy with, just gotta play around with the actual players involved in it now.

Def: Mostly settled here, D3 is probably the only real point of contention. Have cycled through the like of BSmith, Williams, Newman to name a few. Really liked the look of Smithers more so than the others so he's in for now. Being the cheapest of the lot is also something that probably helped pick him too.

Mid: Yeo's a bit of a POD, but after looking at his scoring from last year, I'm more or less committed to picking him at this point. Like the consistency he brings along with a great floor. Taranto has looked really good so far this preseason and I think with Shiel gone, he's primed to step up and become a big dog at GWS. The other one in contention for his spot is Steele. It's one or the other at this stage, but I'm slightly bigger fan of Taranto so I guess bias wins out, also costs a bit less so money can go elsewhere.

Ruck: I think this is close to standard. Only chose Flynn as R3 because I think he's as good as any other option looking to get games at some point in 2019. Not much to say about Grundy or Goldy. Worth noting that I am strongly considering my boy Nank for some a bit cheaper, just depends if I want the cash and what I'd use it for.

Fwd: Probably the most troubling line I think. Danger at F1 is a lock, we all know that much. I've been set on Worpel at F4 for a while and that's unlikely to change. F2 and F3 have been giving me grief, just not sure who I'll settle on. Said this in one of the threads:

Been having a lot of trouble settling on anyone to fill in F2-3, there's a number of options I like but nobody is screaming pick me. It appears to be down to one of Heeney, Dev or Mundy (having all but officially settled on Billings as either F2 or F3), but as mentioned in the POD thread, I've been giving some serious consideration to one of Papley, Higgins or Fisher. Bit of bias is making me lean towards Higgins, but that's also because I'm most certain of his role and therefore the likelihood of the consistent scores that will justify picking him.

One player I neglected to mention as a contender and the one you see in my team is Wallis. I've put a line through Dunkley and McLean, but Wallis looked the goods and equally capable playing through the middle and forward, always being in the game. I'll almost certainly end up Heeney at some point but I'm unlikely to start him.

As mentioned in the quote, the spot Wallis occupies might change and become someone like Higgins. Naturally a little biased but I'm definitely keen on him as an option, would mean bumping Billings up to F2.

Have also given thought to TKelly and Menegola, they're also still in contention too. But yeah, there's still plenty of time to lock in one of these options. I'll let JLT2 help make that choice to some extent, but probably run on gut feel at the end of the day.

Thoughts and discussion welcomed as always.

I keep looking at this side and say to much risk!!.. But no!! It's a great side Nige. Only ? for me is Billings.. Creamed me last year and won't go there.. As a fellow Tiger, go Lynch and if he's not fit, go Greene who on all reports is good to go for round 1.

not having lynch over billings and not having billings at all.  scar tissue is still scabbed up from last year.  putting that aside he is capable of developing and going 100+.   think stkilda options of gresham, steele and billings are all better options than lynch.  coming back from injury, new team and new style could be lots of downs before the ups with lynch.
mundy, menegola, heeney all great options just got to spend the money

This team could really go one of two ways. All your players could Kill it and become keepers and you are laughing your way to a very nice rank or a couple of them don’t really improve and you are scrambling to try and fix your team.

Personally I think all the picks have merit.

Good luck.

I think it's a nice team, just so risky, not enough tried and tested supercoach scorers for me. The risk is you might need to make so many trades to align or you will be a genius. Good luck
