Just remember Gawn is facing an average eagles ruck division. Think I’ll be going Gawn into Grundy/Fyfe.

Gawn is also a bit of an interstate specialist

Last year - 97, 148, 114, 140, 151, 130, 156 (Eagles at Optus)

Average 133,7, 5/7 great C scores

This year 113 and 109. Due a big one.

I'll take those odds

Just hoping I get an option other than Bines to use. Stay injured Scott please.

Might be forced to trade Gibbons instead of Atkins if Gawn/Grundy VC goes big and need a loophole. (Assuming Atkins doesn’t play).

Provided Scott is out, Gawn into Grundy. If he's in, probably the same, just forced to take Grundy regardless.

I could be wrong, but I don't think many rucks monster Hickey - Gawn will get him around the ground but I'm definitely going Grundy VC and then I'll assess C if need be

Definitely seemed to be the case last year, this year less so:

Martin 82 (Season Average: 90)
Simpson 84 (72)
Grundy 132 (124)
Lobb 103 (88)
Ryder 108 (83) / Lycett 75 (84)
Stanley 129 (89)

Pretty much everyone has gotten around their average or higher.

Hickey going to play WAFL this week, Gawn will probably crush Vardy!

https://thewest.com.au/sport/west-coast-eagles/west-coast-eagles-forward-willie-rioli-confirmed-for-friday-night-return-ng-b881201390z

In a surprise move, Tom Hickey will make his return from injury through the WAFL for the Eagles Reserves side against East Perth tonight.

Hickey has missed the past two matches with a hamstring complaint but starred in his most recent outing against Geelong in Round 6.

Simpson said the club had concerns about Hickey’s ability to sustain a whole game as a ruckman following a hamstring injury.

It means Nathan Vardy will be entrusted to carry the ruck load against star Melbourne big man Max Gawn.

Preuss has travelled to Perth as emergency (AFL360). Can’t see anywhere that there is doubt on Gawn but just make sure to keep an eye on late changes. Could affect his score if a late in for someone.

At least it's the first game, so a chance to get in a swing replacement... I it were to happen, CCJ named would be ideal, but very unlikely with Soldo starting. Otherwise, could do worse than getting Lobb with a low BE
