Team as it stands with 10 trades and $22.8k:
Goddard / Shaw / Scotland / Lids / Lake / Ellis / Spurr (Smedts / Edwards)
GAJ / Pendlebury / Scott Thompson / Boyd / Priddis / Hayes (Old McDonald / D Sheil)
Cox / Jenkins (Giles / Staley)
Buddy / Chappy / M Johnson / Stevie J / N Roo / Zorko / Adams (Saad / Smith)
I'm looking for league wins. I sit 2nd in my work league with top 4 pretty much assured, I'm fourth in my social league on percentage with 5th and 6th, who I play in the next two rounds. I have to win both to ensure my top four finish.
As I see it, I need to upgrade 1 ruck, two backmen and one forward (or 1 D and 2 F with the Smedts / MJ DPP). I'm thinking I should downgrade Old Mac and D Sheil for Couch and Baguley to open up DPP between Fwd/Mid and Def/Mid.
So I'm thinking Old Mac to Couch (or Baguley depending on teams) this week and upgrade Giles to Sam Jacobs (was waiting for Sandi, but that may never happen). Ofcourse maybe should wait on rucks and bring Beams into my forward line this week. I can then do the other dowgade and another upgrade next week nd sit on my last six trades for finals.
Thoughts?

Firstly well done on hanging into those trades for so long.
Your squad is pretty handy, and your assessment is spot on. There are some good downgrade options available as you have mentioned, which you will need to get done first. Look at Waters when fit, Birchall / Grimes, Beams, McEvoy / Jacobs for your upgrades. Also look to get to Swan as a luxury trade if you can.
Good luck!

So many options for you so here's my initial reaction to seeing your squad.
Need Sidebottom or Beams.
MJ wasted up front.
If McDonald is picked, get rid of him this week. If not, hold and then Couch / Baguley can wait a week as well - safer.
Rucks can be improved as you say.
Would you consider getting rid of Smedts, moving MJ back and getting a better fwd this week? And to afford it you might get rid of one of Shiel or Old Mc depending upon selections.
To be honest I am jealous of all those lovely plump trades you still have left!

MJ was only really mod up front to fill in for Buddy. He'll probbly end up back with Beams or Sidey coming up fwd.
I was considering improving forwards this week, but I really want Beams or Sidebottom. The only way I'd manage that is to trade Sheil Adams this week, and that would mean I'd lose money on Old Mac. Also Beams and Sidebottom have high b/e whilst Jacobs is low (and Giles is high).
Can't help but think I'm best off moving old Mac and Giles this week and seeing if Beams or Sidebottom ripen a little next week.
Ofcourse trading Giles leaves me with only Jenkins as back up in ruck...

With Adams and Smith out I needed to work on the forwards. So I downgraded Sheil to Baguley and upgraded Adams to Goodes. Though I might yet change the Goodes trade and bring in Sidebottom instead. It's just that Goodes price and BE are so much more appealing
