CAPTAINS/VICE CAPTAINS: Captain scores 200% of his score. Vice Captain scores 150% of his score.
EMERGENCIES*Emergencies must cover a player in the position they play in or get 50% of their score for covering a non playing player of another position.
*Emergencies are taken to cover non playing players by first named emergency in that position. If there are no available players from that position, the first named emergency is taken.
*A utility can cover a non-playing player in the same position, with the first named emergency then used to cover the utility, regardless of the emergencies position. This rule takes precedence over the previous rule.
*If neither the emergency nor the utility are from the position that needs to be covered, the first named emergency will be used, with half of their score counting.
*If you have 4 players not playing 3 emergencies provide cover but there is no further emergency cover.
* Your Emergency Captain/Vice Captain player is cover for your Vice captain in the event your captain plays and your vice captain doesn't.
*In the event neither your captain or your vice captain play then your emergency captain/vice captain player covers your captain.
*If your captain does not play and your vice captain does, your vice captain covers your captain and your emergency captain/vice captain player covers your vice captain.
*NO EMERGENCY OR CAPTAINCY LOOPHOLES ARE TO BE USED DURING ANY ROUND.
HOME GROUND ADVANTAGE: The home team will recieve a bonus of
3% of thier total score.
* All teams will play an equal number of home games each per season.
* There is a Home Ground Advantage in every game of finals, except for the Grand Final

THE DRAFTS1. THE INITIAL DRAFT:
This draft will be 36 rounds of selections for CURRENTLY LISTED AFL PLAYERS. (Relevant only for the first year of the AXV Competition)
*The draft will snake.
*You will forfeit your draft pick if you have not picked within 24 hrs of the preceding pick or within 2 hrs of being on line following preceding pick. Should this situation occur you may take you pick at any time following from players still available.
2. THE NATIONAL DRAFT: This draft will be 5 rounds of selections from the players taken in the AFL National Draft.* The National draft order will be performed in reverse order of the finishing position of teams after finals. (Teams knocked out in the same final will be separated based on ladder position at the conclusion of the H&A Season.)
* The draft will repeat.
* You will forfeit your draft pick if you have not picked within 24 hrs of the preceding pick or within 2 hrs of being on line following preceding pick. Should this situation occur you may take you pick at any time following from players still available.
**NOTE** Teams may choose to PASS at any time any number of times during the National Draft. ( Most likely reason for this is to prefer to take a player from the left over players from the Initial draft which will be available in the rookie/preseason draft along with AFL drafted players in the AFL rookie/preseason drafts.)
When a team chooses to PASS in the National Draft, they will receive that pick at the same number/position in the preseason/rookie draft.3. PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT: The preseason/rookie draft will be 5 rounds of selections from the players taken in the AFL Pre Season and Rookie drafts.* The preseason/rookie draft order will be the same as the National draft order, ALWAYS and will repeat.
* You will forfeit your draft pick if you have not picked within 24 hrs of the preceding pick or within 2 hrs of being on line following preceding pick. Should this situation occur you may take you pick at any time following from players still available.
PRIORITY PICKS: Teams finishing with 4 wins or fewer (16 premiership points or fewer) in a single season, will receive an additional draft pick following the first round of the national draft. If this occurs two seasons in a row, a team will achieve an additional draft pick prior to the first round of the national draft. (This rule will be effective starting with the 2016 Season).
LIST MANAGEMENT: You have a Senior List (capped at 40 players) and a Rookie List (capped at 6 players).
The INITIAL DRAFT of 36 players.
The NATIONAL DRAFT of 4 players.
The PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT of 6 players.
* In the following seasons, players you have on your rookie list can be promoted permanently to your senior list by using a National Draft Pick. They can also be delisted.
* In the following seasons players you draft in the NATIONAL DRAFT can be added to your senior list only. This will mean you have to DELIST players who are on your senior list, to make room for the new players.
*In the following seasons players you draft in the PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT can
only be added to your rookie list if from the AFL rookie draft, but can be added to EITHER list if from a remaining player pool or from the afl preseason draft. This will mean you have to DELIST players who are on your senior and or rookie list, to make room for the new players.
*All AXV Clubs must announce their de-listings (including retirements) for both senior and rookie lists by the required list lodgement date in the relevant thread.
*Failure to post your de-listings by this date will forfeit your draft picks. All AFL de-listed players will be removed from your list, and you will be given picks at the end of the rookie draft to fill up your lists. If your list still has over 40 senior list players and/or 6 rookie list players after AFL de-listed players have been removed, your last listed players will be automatically de-listed.
KEEPING PLAYERS ON YOUR LIST WHO ARE DE-LISTED BY AFL CLUBSSome AXV clubs may choose not to de-list a player who has been de-listed in the AFL, in the hope that they will be picked up in one of the AFL drafts.
*If you do not de-list a player at the official de-listing date, he can remain on your list during the draft period
*If the player is drafted by an AFL Club, they MUST remain on an AXV list
*If after the AFL Pre-Season/Rookie Draft the player is still not on an AXV list, he MUST be immediately de-listed from an AXV list, and a player will be selected during the AXV Pre-Season/Rookie Draft to replace him
PRE-SEASON RETIREES*If a player retires after the AXV National and AXV Rookie drafts have concluded and prior to the conclusion of the second trade period, then the coach is to delist the retired player and select a supplementary player from the left-over pool. This supplementary player is able to go on to either list as per the coaches choosing. If the supplementary player is to go on to the Rookie list and the retiree was on the senior list, then a nominated rookie will require elevation by the coach.
*If a player retires after the conclusion of the second trade period then they are to be treated as an LTI.
LONG TERM INJURY LIST*You may place a player on an AXV Long Term Injury List if the player:
a) Is placed on an AFL LTI
b) Has their injury listed as 8 weeks or more on their AFL Club's Official Injury List, at the time of moving them onto the list
c) Is sacked mid-season by their AFL Club
d) Retires with immediate effect from their AFL Club
*When you place a player on your AXV LTI, you may promote a player on your rookie list until they are back. This allows you to play the rookie listed player in your starting squad.
*AXV Rookies are not eligible to play seniors unless they have been upgraded by their AXV Club
*The rookie upgraded for any player cannot be changed unless/when that player comes off the LTI
*As soon as a player comes off their AFL Club's injury list (if the situation involved an injured player) they come off their AXV Club's LTI, and the promoted player return to the rookie list
TRADINGThere will be two trade periods in each season.Post Season.
AN AGREED TIME AFTER COMPLETION OF THE SEASON BEFORE THE NATIONAL DRAFT OF THE FOLLOWING SEASON
Window to trade players, draft picks. Closes before the National Draft.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LIST CHANGES = 10
Trades may be uneven in this trade window in regards to how many picks and players are swapped.
A team may trade a player and a draft pick swap for a player and a draft pick swap
( e.g Boyd and pick 14 for Swallow and pick 2)
Pre Season.
AN AGREED TIME AFTER THE PRESEASON/ROOKIE DRAFT PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SEASON
Window to trade players only.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LIST CHANGES = 5
A team must trade the same number of players in and out i.e 1 for 1 , 2 for 2.... ect. ect... in this trade window. Trades must also be for players on the same list, i.e rookie for rookie
TRADE APPROVALCompetition admin decides whether a trade is passed or blocked. That decision is final as voted in at the end of last season.
*IMPORTANT NOTES ON LIST MANAGEMENTS DURING TRADES ( TRADE WINDOW #2 AND ALL FUTURE SEASONS)*(This only applies AFTER the first (2013) season, as senior/rookie lists won't be set before trade period in 2013 preseason trading)
* You may trade a rookie listed player for another teams senior listed player, or visa versa in Trade Window #1. BUT
- The player you trade in MUST go onto the same list that the he was already on (senior or rookie) THE DRAWTHE DRAW WILL BE COMPLETED BY LEAGUE ADMINISTRATOR AFTER THE AFL SEASON DRAW IS RELEASED.
*Every team plays each other once - the remaining games are randomly generated
*One round of the season will be set aside as Rivalry Round - All teams will play their rivals, and there will be no HGA bonuses
*AXV teams play every week of the season, regardless of any AFL bye rounds
*Special rolling lockout rules apply for split rounds
*The AXV Grand Final is played in the second last round of the AFL season (to avoid resting issues). The AXV H&A Season will consist of 17 rounds, with another 4 rounds of finals (based on the current AFL model).
SACKING: You will be sacked as coach of your team if you fail to make contact for a period of 2 weeks during the season and drafting periods. All that is required is naming your team each week to comply with this rule, if you have an assistant or friend do it for you that will be fine, although we do hope for 16 active coaches in this competition.
TANKING: Any team found guilty of tanking will lose thier first round draft pick in the national draft and recieve that pick in the final round of the national draft. Tanking is fielding a side to deliberately score less and lose to drop on the ladder and gain higher draft picks the following season. Further penalties can be applied at the discretion of the competition administrator.
