Awaiting The Return Of #24

« on: September 16, 2012, 02:23:03 PM »

There's been a few. Like players who were drafted highly but failed to really deliver. Ever.

I got a couple.

But good on them for getting drafted and all..... :P

Lebron James. Took him 9 years to finally win a ring! He was the "next MJ" coming out of college (he proved this by adopting his powder toss and choosing number 23) so why did it take the no.1 draft pick and "most talented player of all time" so long? Answer is that he doesn't show up late in games and is too scared to take the last shot. He is also a below-average shooter (FT line and jumpers). Plus he only got the champ when he combined with 2 other superstars!!!!

I'm just joking ;D

Just posted that to get some discussion going as it is quite a controversial topic! In some case Lebron James was a flop (for 8 years) due to all the hype and everyone hailing him as 'King James' but now he has finally come through and won it all :)

---------------------------

But seriously, biggest 'flop' of all time has to go to LaRue Martin. He was drafted pick 1 in 1972 by Portland. He managed to scrounge up 5.3 ppg over his 4 year career. To put it in perspective. They could have chosen Dr. J ;D

That Darko pick was a stinker when u think The Pistons could have added Wade, Bosh or Melo to an already championship team
