Most improved is almost impossible to pick. Evan Turner has potential.

I just cant see a centre that is better than a fit Bynum. Of course fitness is the issue but hoping he can finally string some games together. Probably wont happen due to his knees but if just maybe he gets his knees right, certainly capable of first team imo.

Talking to a lot of 6'ers fans and following their season fairly closely, Turner has been nothing short of a bust at the two pick. He is like Brickadala where he would do everything ok but nothing well and disappear for long stretches of the season. Right now he is expected to get a rather large payday with his contract as it is, and they will be looking to move him on. It might have been the Doug Collins system which encouraged mid range jump shots and that not  being one of his strengths may have hurt his performance, but I think that what you will see with Turner is a guy who will come on, light it up for 1 or 2 games and then continue to go missing down the stretch.

And as you said with Bynum it comes down to his body and his knee won't hold up for an 82 game season. The guy everyone continues to undersell is Marc Gasol. He finally got some recognition this season but if this guy was not playing at the Grizz people would be giving him the credit he deserves.

Jayman's 2013-2014 NBA Season Predictions

  • Rajon Rondo will be the all nba first team point guard
  • Jeff Green will be a top 10 scorer
  • Avery Bradley will be in the all defensive first team
  • John Wall takes the Wizards to the playoffs
  • Kevin Durant wins MVP
  • Oklahoma City win the championship
  • Andrew Bynum will be the all-nba first team centre
  • Andrew Bogut will be the defensive player of the year
  • Most improved will go to Evan Turner
  • Indiana Pacers win the eastern conference
  • Victor Oladipo wins rookie of the year
  • Jared Sullinger averages a double double

Will revisit this to see how many happen ;)

Seems a very biased list of predictions just quietly.  :P

Haha mine are so bias Windi, I'm the most bias NBA fan I know ;) I like to say things a bit out of the ordinary. What fun is it agreeing with what everyone else says?! I might do a proper, unbias, legit set of predictions too... Just doesn't have the same effect for me ;D

One that I may have to change is Rondo - first team. Depends when he is back on the court... Says he is fine with where he is at and hopes to be ready by training camp! Good signs. But I will keep fine-tuning those predictions until the season is underway.

Ultimately Mat, for M.I.P I just picked the player that has the most potential but has not yet shown it yet. I've seen Turner have some huge games against Boston and if he can become more consistent, he will be a solid player in this league.

Oh yeah, Marc Gasol is elite. Passing out of the post and defense his two biggest strengths. I like Bynum's offensive game with his back to the basket but Gasol is right up there. Brook Lopez anyone? The other guy along with Bynum that Shaq said was better than Dwight...

M.I.P I reckon could be Nikola Vucevic?

Could explode for 20 a game & the same amount of boards (12+)

I take Parker over Paul in terms of a point guard.

Heat will lose this year so what makes you think they win next?

This season was the last season that LBJ > KD. Durant will be the new no.1

Dwight was not close to all-NBA team this year, why next year? He has to conted with much improved Gasol and Noah + return of Bynum

Not sure how Russ can be in the first team if obviously James Harden is a lock + you have CP3 in there too...

Blake Griffin so far is the most over-hyped and over-rated player of the last decade. But I agree with you here, he could be the star of the NBA... Not saying he will, plenty he needs to work on but he is so gifted

think clippers will take it to another level, Paul has youth on his side.

heat will win this year and should get even better next year.

dwight was coming back from injury this season, he might not be at the lkaers next year and that should help him. even if he does kobe might not come back or wont come back the old kobe so he will be the focal point of the team.

Russ is much better than harden. Harden is overated and russ is underated.

Blake griffin was overhyped now I woudl argue he is undervalued, has really improved his game and isnt just a dunker any more. He will show this year how good a player he actually is.

one more prediction. It will be the last year we see Lebron and Wade in the same team.

Love it! Good to see another Roy Hibbert fan. Do you often see 2nd year most improved?

Think next year will be wide-open! OKC, Pacers, Bulls, Miami and Clippers are all legitimate chances for the championship imo. Give GSW one more year, then they will be very hard to stop!

Being a fantasy nut, ive been on the Hibbert wagon since he came into the league, he has also struggled with a wrist injury the last 12 months so only now r we seeing the steady 18 an 10 type production with 3 blocks and good %s... his fg% was really bad early this season, under 40% for awhile which for 7'2 guy is pukeworthy... Still not convinced The Clippers keep CP3 even tho they r letting him fire coaches :P OKC r going to be without Westbrook early on which is why im tipping Durant for MVP and scoring title, he will drop ridiculous numbers for fantasy next year
